circa 1850, with 31 1/2in. variegated damascus etched barrels, the top-rib inlet in gold 'JOHN DONAGHY, AMSTERDAM', borderline and scroll engraved top-tang, fenced nipples, border and scroll engraved bar-action locks signed 'JOHN DONAGHY' on the right and 'AMSTERDAM' on the left, carved walnut half-stock with carved and raised cheek-piece, ribbon chequered panels at fore-end and grip, the grip terminating in a carved lion's head, white metal scroll engraved furniture and wood under-barrel ramrod, some staining to locks
